I tested my TPS and it indicates 700 to 3K ohms. The book says 400 to 6K. I think it is time for one of those now. Probably what is setting my CE when accelerating.

I've been having the same issues too.
My car threw the Bank 1 bank lean code and started to make this moaning noise. I cleaned and replaced the UIM and LIM with new gaskets last weekend and the sounds is still there. The CEL has not come back, but the noise is bad.
The moaning sounds like moosing, but very irregular and it's coming from the passenger side of the engine. Are there any hoses there? Also, it only happens between 1000 - 2250 rpms. The car seems to run fine except for the damn noise.
Any help would be great.

I'll give the the moose fix a try. Might as well - I got nothing to lose.

Mine was making some hell of a noise as well. I so far fixed it by ensuring EVERY possible leak spot past the MAF was tight/in working order. I put on a clamp to the one pcv valve and a new hoseclamp on my intake. Also a new gasket on my EGR (only cost 2 dollars and 10 minutes). Also had to buy a new IAC and gasket. Also finally gave in and picked up a code reader! So i'm probably around 120 bucks. i but i paid 75 for the reader and 38 for the IAC.

I kept getting the po171 code so I took it to a repair shop and they couldn't figure it out as usual. I got listening and heard a hissing by the intake and changed the upper intake gasket and egr gasket and presto it runs better than before and no leak or loping while idling either.

I put the TPS sensor in on Saturday and the engine is running great now. Idle is smooth and the lean codes went away. I replaced the seals around the injectors and got rid of the gas smell I had every so often. One of the upper seals was a little loose because the injector popped out too easy from the fuel rail.
