New to the forum. Well, actually, I posted a few times a couple of years ago, but I've since forgotten my old login, so I just created a new one. My wife drives my hand-me-down black '99 SE Sport and was involved in a 4 car pileup on the freeway on Tuesday night. The only damage appears to be the rear bumper. It's smashed into bits, including the energy-absorbing piece underneath the exterior plastic. It doesn't look like there is structural damage to the frame, but I haven't really looked at it too closely yet. I don't know yet if our insurance will write us a check and let me do the work myself, or if they will write a check directly to a body shop, but if I can do the work myself, I'd like to save the money. Does anybody know of a good exploded diagram showing all of the parts of the bumper assembly, and maybe showing part numbers? Anybody know of a good place to find parts? I've already checked ebay, but even there I'd have to drop $300 or so and most of those are only for the exterior plastic piece and don't include the underlying parts. Thanks for any help.
