My thermostat is on it's way to the great thermostat in the sky, but when I looked at where it is located I wondered what was ford thing?!?! Seriously....the thing is almost sideways and I will have antifreeze spilling everywere without draining the system. And How the heck do you get to the lower bolt easily? Any help on anything related to this would be great. Thanks

Ahhh...this is why I did a flush and fill before doing this, so that by the time I do my maintainance on this area that I can hope the new coolant/water mixture has busted up some of the old crud and a new flush and fill will have her ready for the last vestiges of winter and the first pangs of the summer swelter.

If that's a Duratec (I think it is) use some B'laster on that bottom bolt, it was tricky getting that one loose. Had to use extension and u-joint on the socket wrench. I imagine the waterpump needs replacing, if your engine is overheating. Metal or white plastic impeller. Drain part of the coolant, and cover up the trans below (the mlps switch is there).

His info states "95 SE MTX". At least all 95-96 SE's are all V6, probably 97 too (but not sure).
But yes, I agree, check that water pump!

When posting a request for assistance, the onus is on the poster to give the three main information, year, engine and mileage. The onus is not on those providing assistance/help to know that "all 95-96 SE's are all V6,". As soon as someone makes a general statement, there will be another who will post something different. Now, a SVT; you can take that to the bank that it is a Duratec (unless it has been modified).
Edit. Sticky on top of Troubleshooting Forum.
"When asking a question, please include all relevant details. i.e. engine type (2.5L Duratec V6/2.0L Zetec), transmission type (auto/manual), etc. We cannot help unless you are specific!"
