Quick question, the cap that goes on the overflow tank, does the neck of the cap have to be a longneck? Or can it have a very short neck? Per NAPA, this is the pressurized cap for the car. just checking so i can avoid any problems with having the wrong cap. Thanks.

Short neck/long neck? I'd just go to a junk yard and get one. I have one off my SVT parts car is you want it. $5 shipped. It's not an SVT specific part.

There are two styles. I'm not sure of the date change, but my early 98 has the short style. I have seen at least some E1's with the long style. They are not interchangable. The bottle is different. The long style has a short overflow hose in the neck of the bottle.

Yeah mine is a long neck one and the one NAPA gave me has barely any neck on it. Guess im not seeing it, but why wouldnt the short necked one work on my 99'? is it because of where the overflow hose is maybe?
Todras, how much for the cap and the tank?? couldnt get the neck pulled out of the tank and dont want to booger up the top threads trying. I guess I could drill a hole in the top and stick an offset screwdriver in there and pull.

The tanks are interchangable as long as you get the correct cap to go with it.
