It was time to replace my battery with it being winter and all so I bought one at Advance Auto that fit my car. The batter dropped right in and fit fine except the terminal posts are too small for the connectors. The connectors can not be tightedn any more. I have tightened the nuts on the cables but still I can just pull the cable off of the battery. Is there a way (wihout spicing in a new connector) to secure the cable to the post? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Why do you have to replace the battery in winter?

Get the right battery would be the best option I think.

Batteries die in the winter too.
Or maybe he got a winter battery?
When mine goes I'm gettin a Motorcraft put in it, I got a Interstate right now, it was in the car when I got it.
What kind of battery did you get?

I had the same problem with my battery when I got a new one from advance. I replaced the ground and fought with the positive and go it to fit.

I don't replace the battery every winter, I just did this winter cuz it was time.

This is the right battery for Advance auto. The thing fit like charm physically, it is the terminal posts that are a touch to small compared to the clamps.

Thanks

Maybe you could shim the posts with some foil temporarily, on one side, then I would get a Motorcraft BXT40 at the dealer, and return the Advance Auto one. Make sure the threads are clean on the clamp bolts, so they grip as much as possible.
