So my engine is beginning to exhibit the dreaded rod knock. I was wondering how much, other people typically paid to replace 2.5 with the 3.0 with svt heads if they hired someone else to do it for them. Also,I don't remember where the website is that I can get contour ready 3.0s. Thanks a lot for any help.

For me...
$550 for an 02 longblock $400 for an SCT Xcal 2 $100 for stazi to do my fuel rail
Then dyno time which I have not done
I think it can be done for even cheaper than that tho.

i think that there are too many vairiables involved to give a good est. so many routes you can go when your building it,like how involved of a rebuild do you want, complete bearing gaskets etc,or just a head swap? or a straight 3l ovalport swap, hybrid, escape cams, svt cams, cat cams,mazda6exhaust cam... are you on a budget?how much do you have to spend....? dont forget you NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR DIFF!!!

What would be the suggested best value for my dollar if my budget is say around $2500 for everything? I was looking at AZdynochip and the prepped 3.0 is $1800; I'm not looking to upgrade excessively after the swap, N/A. I am aiming for 170-180bph or so. Thanks for the helpful advice.

-Full 3L engine ~$400 -Port matching the 3L heads to the SVT LIM ~$0-400 depending where you go, how much you do, etc. (doesn't include valve job, or port polish) -New Clutch and flywheel if you need it (good time to upgrade) ~$700 -LSD for tranny ~$600 -All gaskets needed ~$100-$200 -TTY bolts ~$100-$150 -Clevite rod bearings ~$45 -Oil pan w/ pickup ~$140 -MSDS Headers ~$250-$350
Theres a rough estimate of some stuff

or just do a full 3l drop in...take your svt manifolds,tb and sell the set for about 500 dollars and recoupe some of your costs, plus it saves on port matching, and if the enine is new enough saves all the time that goes into pulling the heads and putting new gaskets in...

agreed there. If you looking for more power, without a lot of expense, and for it to be done fairly quickly (couple days) then thats the way to go. If you want even more power though, it's like I said above.

Best option IMHO.
