It is just attached and open to the tank.. sometimes pouring coolant in there, it comes out the hose... maybe it has a release valve or something.

huh?, i've never seen that on a tour,actually your coolant tank looks different than mine,i have two hoses coming out of the front of the tank,it looks you just have one up top..

its just a overflow hose... and good luck it will never get white again, it will be yellow even if you get the funk out of the inside

Yep. Weird design, if it overflows it sprays over the engine.

yeah.. the little hose is supposed to direct it to the ground, winds up going all over the belt
