I read many posts about how hard it is to do this job.
They are Right. Pre-98 Contours are brutal!

I took my heat shield off.
Looking through the exhaust mainfold you can see it and pry it out.
Also move the rubber insulator up the pipe as well.
A person with small hands can reinstall the new one from the underside. The person on top now holds the valve steady as from the underside, the insulator and pipe are pushed back onto the valve.
Done! What a place to put this valve! Pittiful.

I can do them in about 5 mins from underneath by bending the heastshield slightly and bending it back afterwards,you just have to be careful the other end of the pcv hose is still properly connected afterwards.
