Here's the deal.. this may sound funny but I'm very interested in ANY Contour SVT and I even got approved up to $12,000 for a loan in a credit union here in NJ but I need a co-signer. So if you really want to sell your car and would like to help me out, I can give you the telephone number to the credit union and you could sign up as the co-signer (I already applied and got approved just need co-signer info from anyone). May seem odd but I'm living alone and a freshman in college so it's kind of hard to get anything right now because I have zip for credit. Anyway, let me know if this idea isn't too crazy. I'm willing to give you a little more than asking price and pay it off through the loan. Obviously, you would hold onto some of my information for safety purposes (Name, home address, home phone, work address and cell/work phone). If you're comfortable enough to help me out PLEASE give me a call at my cell phone I would be forever grateful. If possible, we could meet somewhere and talk and have it in writing if it suits you better. I figured asking on the 'Northeast' forum would help seeing you would live near me incase anything went wrong.
Phone # removed by moderator......PM him or post but don't post personal info on the net.....Thanks Bill

No offense man, but you don't have a chance in hell. No one here is going to co-sign a loan for a new CEGer, that they don't know. Too many people here get screwed by vetren CEGers and they aren't signing legal contracts... good luck though.

I have nothing to do with what anyone else did wrong here. If I knew this place was full of a bunch of scammers I wouldn't have asked in the first place. All I'm asking is if anyone who lives close by who can keep in contact with me do me this favor. I'm in Jersey City, NJ btw.

I saw the title of this thread in the forum list and had to check it out ... this has to be the most ridiculous request I have ever seen on the internet. I wouldn't even ask close friends of mine to co-sign on loans, let alone complete strangers. Yeah, I want to put my ass on the line for some college student living alone that I don't even know. This must be some kind of joke.

Mods can close/end this thread. Thanks. To think all I wanted to do was ask for help.

Just think about it for a second. Would someone who has no idea who you are hold themselves legally liable for the payment of your car? No. It's common sense, not that this forum is a harsh environment.

Murtaza - Even you've got to realize that it's a pretty far-fetched idea to think that anyone in this day & age of ID theft & e-scams & such would actually do such a thing .
I think that if you stick around long enough , you'll see that the people here (in the NorthEast forums , that is) are pretty straightforward , upfront , trustworthy , and VERY friendly people . I believe that you've just been caught offguard by their reactions to your off-the-wall request . Don't take it to heart . We all would like to see another Contour owner in the crowd & hope you can float the loan somehow . Maybe you could hit up more well-known friends or family to co-sign for you ?
I don't want this thread to get out of hand (and will be watching it closely) , so please don't pounce on Murtaza too badly . This is the only warning .
