So since it got cold here in kingston my car has been getting worse and worse for it's runability. Tonight while popping over the 599 overpass a loud constant hissssss from the engine. More throttle more hiss and NO POWER it barely gets to 3000 rpm, its Right around where the throttle cables are and the area IS REALY HOT, so before i drop her off to get soaked again for repairs any of you gurus have any ideas what the hell is wrong. I just hope its not the precats cause i don't have that much $ right now. praying for EGR or VAC LEAK And id rather not bring it to ford for them to look at cause i can't afford that either, dam this new computer dam it all to hell.

Wow. That sounds about like what happened to me. Check the hose leading from your thermostat to the heater core. If you find an inch long gash in it from rubbing against a bracket, replace it immediately. Check your coolant first though. Other than that, I don't know what could be the problem... That hose is why I'm the Glycol Bather...

Probably the same things that I'm finding all over mine. Vacuum leaks! The EGR stem leaked, the O-rings on top of the intake leaked, injector to LIM leak. What a pain!  The line that purges the fuel vapors into the intake was burnt off - it was up against the EGR intake pipe.

so i jammed up another catalityic converter again WTF is wrong with this car This the 2nd one in 6 months. Am i running super fat or something or is it something else. The inside of my exhaust pipe is black but the tip is white does that mean anything to anyone?

VIBRANT HIGHFLOW clogged solid
must been when my ignition coil went
Replaced with MAGNAFLOW HIGHFLOW
By midas here in kingston

Glad you fixed it, make sure there are no codes, if you run rich, it will clog again.

I gotta get it checked again i think there was an EGR problem at the same time
Ok drive to Toronto 4:15 in the morning everthing is hunky dory get to Pearson Drop off the passenger and Rocket back to Kingston *SLEEP* wake up at 3:30 drive to work, get to work, park in my parking spot and i can feel an odd shake from the motor. "NM ill look at it later" get off work at 3 am get in the car fire it up and HISSSSSSSSSS HISSSSSSSSSSS from the top of the motor. IS EGR CLOGGED????????? no vac leaks it was all checked out. Catilytic converter is good cause i still have power but hard throttle gets a "TURBO STYLE" hisssssssssss now if i was a ricer i would like it but its driving me mad.
oh and BTW i have done the MOOSE FIX but its back with a vengance with the fix installed so WTF
