Some officers are real jerks. I was dropping off my sister at her school and an officer directing traffic stopped everything to threaten me about not dropping off passengers in travel lanes. Well, it just so happened that I had turned out of traffic, my sister got off, and I re-entered the clear traffic lane to go back to my house. The officer threatened me by belligerently giving me a warning and letting me off. I drove off, but not without giving him the one-finger salute.
He was directing traffic and his car was (strangely, or stupidly enough) a few blocks away. I never saw that fat, bald, undisciplined officer again. Damn Lake Worth PD!
I too live in FL by the way. I travel all over it all the time. The cops do really suck in central FL. Most of the people who can't drive here though are between 70 and 180 years old. Or they're tourists and watch everything but the road. That particularly drive me nuts when I'm in Orlando.
