I was wondering, when do you guys think the CSVT will stop losing value? For example, a Impalla SS, or an older Ford Lightning are vehicles that people are asking top dollar for because they limited. Do you think the CSVT will ever get to that stage? I see Impalla SS's for close to 20k and they have like 40k miles. I personally would never pay that. Will the CSVT follow in the foot steps of the Impalla SS or the old Lightning (if you know what I am getting at)?

IMO, the CSVT will get to that stage approximately when the SHO Taurus does. (In other words, probably never ...)

^^^^lol The SVT/Contour will appreciate in value when we all ready 45-50 and start wishing for the old days and remember that sweet car we use to drive when we were in our 20s.

The difference between the Impala SS and the Lightnings is they have appeal to the masses and a good bang for the buck in mod-i-bility. The CSVT, although a good platform has neither. It does not appeal to the masses and doesn't respond well to mods and therefore therefore there is no demand for the vehicles as there can be fore the other vehicles mentioned. IMO, in 20 or so years, only a bone stock CSVT combined with a pure enthusiast (sp?) will pay top dollar for one.

It's rarity and 'underdog' status is its downfall here.
A similar car that I can think of is the Beretta GTZ. They are absolutely dirt cheap because there's really no interest and it has the 'domestic' stigma. Sad really, it is a pretty solid car (200hp 2.3) except for that serious head gasket issue.

How true that is...I've been trying to find a GTZ or another Grand Am...but they are hard as hell to find with the H.O. Quad 4...even if the SVT is not looked upon as a "collector" or high valued vehicle..i'll just enjoy the time i have it as i have my Grand Am for the past 16 years..at least when i'm 72 years old i can look back and say damn that SVT was a rare machine and i had the priviledge of owning one..

i reckon it'll stop losing value when there is no value left to lose.

Unfortunently, there aren't enough of them to be sold in "3 for a dollar" lots.
