Ok, does anyone know the right bit to use to get these out?

Chilton read it needs a T40 Torx, wrong, wrong, wrong ( i know now )

Haynes says a 7mm Allen

The how to's here read a t47 or 7mm Allen may be needed?

Does anyone know for sure, a t47 bit may be difficult to find

Unfortunately, the type of bolt is different from one car to the next and, unless I've missed a recent discovery, doesn't follow any pattern. In my case, I had to find that T-47 at Sears to finish the job.

Good luck.

The Haynes tear down for the V6 Duratec was based on a 1995 Contour. Not sure what year the I-4 Zetec was (probably 1995 too) but pretty sure it was a Mondeo and not a Contour.
