Shortly after I got my Contour, we quickly found out that there was a problem with the ATX. We took it to a tranny shop (one that was recommended bythe dealer, tsk, tsk).

He said the hard shift were caused by the tranny's "neutral position switch". LOL! Is there even such a thing. And what does a switch telling the shifter position have to do with shifting? How did he get his ASE patch?

Is my car for sale? PM me if you're in South FL.

umm i heard the same thing to but i think its called a Transmission Range Sensor , they are known to go out on CD4E transmissions , they cause irractic shifting and such so i think i pretty much answered my own question im gunna get one 2marrow from ford for like 52.00 dollars , just do a search for Tranmission Range Sensor and it should help you get a better image , for what its there for
