okay, now what?

I charged a different battery and put it in the Tour and it started right up, took it around the block a couple of times and no batt light. Left it running to charge the batt and then came out after about 30 min and the car was off and the batt was dead. But the batt light did not come on at all.

?

First all, retract the offer of free drinks.

Then, do you have a new (good) battery or is this the bad one?

Once you get it started again, test the alternator and see if it is putting out 14 to 14.5 volts (test at the battery terminals).

Check wiring from battery to alternator and battery to ground (frayed, loose, kinked, chafed).

It appears that the alternator is not charging the battery. When you turn the key to on, does the Battery/charge light stay on until you start the engine? (to check if the bulb is blown).

Alternator test, engine running, 14 to 14.5 volts.

Battery test, engine off, headlights on for one minute, 12 to 12.5 volts.

Edit.
Just noticed this. "I just had my alternator rebuilt about three weeks ago". What do you mean by rebuilt? New brushes, new regulator? or a rebuilt alternator from the store. And what brand?

not sure, I had a friend of a friend do it, I don't think he had to replace the brushes but I do remember a white plastic piece that he replaced and another part that I don't recall what it was.

This? (alternator brushes)

and this? (alternator voltage regulator)
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=BOR&mfrpartnumber=R947&parttype=204&ptset=A

If the inside is scored (gouged) too much, the brushes will not work anymore. Might be time for a new alternator.

Well, I took it back to the individual that rebuilt my alternator and when he got to looking at it he realized that the cable to the alternator was loose. When he rebuilt it and put it back in he admitted that he should have put some sealant on it when he had the chance but just forgot about it. So he re-connected it, sealed it and didn't charge me a dime. Now thats a good feeling! Thanks to everyone that responded to my post. I am sure I will be asking more questions in the future.

Thanks!
