We just purchased our first home about 6 weeks ago, I decided to pull a water sample off the well, and it came out 7 parts coliform, I retested 48 hours removing the faucet filter, and then sent it away, came back 12 parts coliform. The Health Unit here says it may be unsafe to drink.
They gave me direction to disinfect the well using Bleach. I have done so, however my problem is the water still smells very very strong of bleach two days later.
I think I may have put too much in, my question is how to I fix this problem if in fact I did, I have flushed the system for about 1 hour in total and the bleach smell is still very strong.
Thanks for any and all advice.

call the Health Unit back and tell them what you did, how much bleach you put in, and the problem you're now having. Ask what they suggest you do now.

Perhaps call a company that specilizes in wells. I would assume the well builder/drillers would be able to help you. And while *free* internet advice may be cheap, this is your family's health your dealing with. Best to involve an expert.

Oooh, you're gonna like this little story..
A friend of mine moved into a house that had been a foreclosure. The previous owners stole all the light fixtures, major appliances, garage door openers, etc. Unfortunately, they didn't stop there.
The water smelled and tasted nasty, so he got it tested. It came showing high levels of bacteria, so he had the well shocked. It took several days for the water to stop reeking of chlorine, and it still tested high for bacteria.
They repeated this two more times with the same results before doing more detailed tests and finding that there were very high levels of bacteria only found in HUMAN FECES. Considering that the septic tank is 200 yards away and downhill, along with the previous owner's other actions, it's not hard to infer how that happened.
There was just so much bacteria that the chlorine barely made a dent in it. He ended up raising hell with the realtor and the bank that sold the house, and got a new well.
So be sure to retest your well!
