THE MOVIE SUCKS!!!!!!
If you have read the book, DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE!
If you have watched the other movies and liked them, DO NOT WATCH THE NEW MOVIE!
If you enjoy movies with coherent plots and actual character/plot developement, DO NOT WATCH THE NEW MOVIE!
I could give exact reasons as to why it is terrible, but right now I'm tired and I can't believe I just spent nearly 3 hours watching it.

wow that bad huh? I am all of the things you described in your post....and I'm still gonna go see it, with my 5 year old son. I tend to steer clear of the critics reviews anyways, they're usually all freakin nuts imho....lol.

Thank you for not going into details ... I'm 'probably' going to see it tonight. I'll stop watching this thread till after that point.
The third movie and the sixth book pretty much killed what was a *huge* Harry Potter enthusiasm for me .. but I'll still read the books, and watch the movies...

that's what you get for going out at midnight to see a children's movie
it was probably a good movie, but you were so sleep deprived/irritated you spent hours in line waiting that it spoiled it for you

a coworker here went to see it in IMAX and she said the same about it all. She's a huge diehard fan of the books and movies, but she was upset at how they strayed from the book and took artistic license with some of the plot and such.
I've never read the books or seen the movies, but I'm somewhat curious to see them just the same.

This is very disappointing, I never thought I would like those movies but after I watched the first one I found them very entertaining. This sucks to hear that the new one stinks.

ha. a friend of mine who is a diehard HP fan invited me to her little HP get-together last night. dinner and drinks at her pad then off to the movies for the midnight showing. i told her i wouldnt be able to stay awake and if i was going to see id probably want to take my daughter. so i didnt go. if it sucked that bad then im realllly glad i didnt go  she must be pissed. on another note. I saw Zathura last week. if anyone is a fan of Jumanji than go see this movie. it was fantastic! definitely kid friendly but also great for adults.

well to be fair, my coworker said she still enjoyed the movie, just parts of it upset her.
Her husband loved it and he's into it all nearly as much as her.

as long as he's a conservative ill listen to whatever he says... 
i really dont care about this movie one way or the other. if my daughter wants to see it, we'll see it. teh suck or not. if she doesnt care to see it i can wait till its on cable.
now if the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe sucks, then I'll be disappointed.
