ok about 3 weeks ago i had my torque converter replaced and my solenoid pack in the tranny replace, my fluid is filled to specifications, what type of fluid does a contour use for tranmission fluid? could it be my TSS (Turbine Speed Sensor) its just weird , why would they have to reprogram my PCM in the same year it was made ? , but when i got it back from the trans shop it was low on fluid , so i added the right amount and evern since then it has that 1-2 bang shift after coming from the highway going 55-65 mph , but i shut my car off for like a min or so and it shifts fine , so any suggestions , i would apperciate it , oh and the trans shop is oderin me a TSS just to see if its that , cause i still have the sensor that has a metal bracket instead of a white bracket .......

ATX ATF is Mercon. Yes, change the TSS and see if it helps.

You original TC went bad because it was not receiving enough pressure due to a worn bypass valve in the valve body. If you continue to drive it you will burn up the new converter. Bring it back to the shop and have them test the line, CT and front lube pressure before spending any more money. The CT pressure should be 85 ââ?¬â?? 100 psi at 55 with the TC locked (steady speed) and 55 ââ?¬â?? 85 psi when unlocked.

my torque converter is working , is just that when i come from the highway and stop at a light or a stop sign and come to a full stop , then i start to take off , it like slams into 1st gear the slams into 2nd gear but not as hard as the 1st gear , could my shift cable be off , cause the little sensor on the top of the tranny , that tells the computer what gear your in , cuase i guess your suppose to algin the d up with the rod that turns the sensor , , but i dont know its just very confusing

Its bang shifting because it has detected slippage and entered limp home mode. Shutting off the engine and restarting clears it until slippage is detected again.
You really nee to do some trouble shooting like using a scanner to compare the TSS to the engine RPM during lock up, or just look at the control pressure during the bang shift (I bet its 90 PSI or higher), or, test for codes when it bang shifts.
Again, it is rare for a TC to just go bad, It usually a stuck vale that takes it out.

Would driving over 65 for a few minutes somehow trigger bang-shifts after decel-ing and accel-ing again?
Is my car for sale? PM me if you're in South FL.
