Does anybody know if there's any kind of online store for used appliance parts?
A friend of mine gave me a top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher. It cost around $900 5 years ago. However it came with a foreclosure house he bought, and the [censored] who previously owned the house removed the lower rack, spray arms, and door gasket to render it unusable. The price for replacement parts is insane-- $70 for the gasket, $25 for the silverware basket.. over $300 in all. Even though it's really nice, I'm still not very inclined to spend that much on a handful of parts.
Junkyards for cars are everywhere, why not the same thing for appliances?!
