Origional Post I just got the news that Kurt passed away. I dont know details exactly. He had been in a Coma for 2 weeks and 3 days. The pressure never went down. But he had been stable. But with any head injury, you just dont know. I am still more or less in shock from the news. If you want to know what happened, just type in Kurt Socha in google and read any of the many articles.

I'm sorry to hear of Kurt's passing. It's such a shame to lose someone so young especially when he was doing something he truely enjoyed. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and all of his friends.
He's with God now.

Sorry to hear this Mike. Be there for your friend and his family as I know they need it right now.
I can't help but feel bad for the kid that gave him the cripling blow in the football game. I can't imagine he's taking this well at all.

Thanks guys. I was with Ray tonight, Kurts brother. We had all our friends together and we played cards. Ray wiped us all clean. We didnt play easy either. He was doing pretty good. he was his normal self. He credited his winnings to Kurt.
Him and his family had over 2 weeks to hope and pray for the best, but prepare for the worst. They made the decision last night to take Kurt off life support. he was brain dead. The nuerologist (sp) said he was probably brain dead from the initial hit. They wanted the pressure to go down before they could really analize the damage, but the pressure and sweliing never went down. And with 2 weeks and 3 days with the swelling at 70%, there was really no hope at all that the brain would survive. The body yes, but not the brain. I feel terrible for Ray though. Rays 21st Birthday is on Sunday. Kurts 18th Birthday was the Day before he was hit. But the they are one of the strongest families i know. Keep praying for them though, they still need the prayers
Thanks again everyone for all your prayes and support. They mean so much to me, but the world to Kurts family.

That's making me feel so sad... He didn't deserve that. It's an accident but still... I can't stop thinking of him. I don't even know him but he seemed to be a really good guy from what I read. Hope his well where he is and hope his family and friend to go trough. Best wish to him and all of them.

Mike - Very sad to hear 'bout Kurt's passing . It's a terrible shame when freak stuff like that happens to young kids . He didn't even get to enjoy much of life . At least he's OK now & in no pain anymore . Send my regards to his family .
