After I trun the car off and shut the door, the interior lights go off in about 5 seconds. But tonight i went back out and they were on. I checked to make sure the map lights were off and the dash dim control thing wasnt in the position for it to be on. It's the middle dome light and the footwell lights that are coming on. For now I just pulled the fuse, but does anyone know what could be causing it?

Check the rubber switch by the door (A-pillar or column). Remove it and see if the wire is shorted (or spring is broken).
Edit. Note that it could also be the one by the passenger side or the two back seat ones (B-pillar or column between the front and rear doors). The assumption for the driver's side is that it is the one most frequently used and probably broken first.

Central timer module can also be bad.. (causes a drained battery, and "forever" lights.
Search in the troubleshooting forum for that phrase ("central timer") for a post that involves a test procedure to determine FOR SURE if its bad.
I'll find it for you, if you don't have it found by the tomorrow.

I think its that spring because this morning the chirp that goes off when you leave the key in the ignition kept going off while i was driving with the door shut. I'll check it out tonight when it's not raining. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. If the spring is broken do I need to get another one? I dont care if they work or not, just so long as my battery doesnt drain, and plus with the fuse pulled my CD player doesn't work

If all you care is that it doesn't drain the battery and that your CD player works and the problem is the spring rather than the central timer, then try this..

The door ding is only tied to the front driver's door.
Open the door, look at the switch on the column. undo the two screws, remove switch from column, remove one wire, heatshrink wrap it (or tape it, but I wouldn't recommend that) and reinstall switch. tada now the car thinks your door is always shut.

Wouldn't this also stop your lights from coming on when you open the door?
