I beleive that my IMRC may have recently failed due to NVH (mainly V&H) from all my filled mounts. I've had all my mounts filled with 94 ShoreA for about 5 months now and now my IMRC is finally crapped out for good (no problems until end of Sept). One thing I noticed now is that there is a rattle in the box that I did not notice before hand when I was reassembling my motor this summer (not sure if this is typical).

My question is, could the additional vibration and harmonics from my filled mounts be the root cause for my IMRC failure or is it just a crap design destined to fail? If it could be the V&H what is the best way of preventing it from happeing it again? Would mounting it on the valve covers isolated by rubber bushings help or should go as far as relocating it somewhere else completely isolated from the vibrations and harmonics of the engine?

Thanks

I relocated my IMRC to the drivers side of the engine bay and have had no problems since. Get it away from the heat, that is what kills them.

Do you have any pics or can you describe what you did to allow the relocation?

Thanks

So how many miles did you have on your IMRC? Mine started going before I had my mounts redone, so I can't blame that.
