I've done alot of searching but just want some opinions.
I have come to the conclusion (right or wrong) the stock intake is fine as is. I don't wanna go all out with a cold air intake so is there a K&N type filter that fits in stock SVT intake?

Also was looking at the MSDS headers(just headers) do the stock heat shields fit over them. If they do or do not does the ceramic coating negate the need for for heat shield ( I know I am a bit of a noob).

I will get a y pipe eventually I hear MSDS or Weapon R are the way to go. Ceramic Coating?(yes or No)

Catback ehast is last on my list seems the stock isn't that restrictive or at least nets the least gain.(right or wrong)

Finally. Obviously I have read that a chip is the best way to squeeze the most out of upgrades just curious if anyone knows about how much there is to gain from a full exhaust replacement such as MSDS,Y-pipe,Catback with and without chip.

Yes there is a K&N conical filter that fits inside the stock SVT airbox. SEE BOTTOM!

No, the stock heatshields will not work with them and you don't need them if you ceramic coat the headers.

MSDS - yes to coating.
Weapon-R no, thermal wrap can be used here if you want.

Wrong - the SVT stock exhaust has 3 restrictive (baflled) mufflers. The center one is especially crappy being only 2" to start with when the surrounding piping is 2.25" and the rear two mufflers are baffled also. Good gains can be seen when swapping out the mufflers for magnaflow units along with a good y-pipe.

SVT's run really fat (rich) from the factory. Some leaning out of the fuel and a little extra timing advance can get you some ood gains on top of all the other prerequisite mods, of about 10-15hp.

All this is already documented and you would read it all if you had read the FAQ's and searched properly. I just felt like responding cos I'm bored and to slap you into your senses a little too!

Google is AMAZING too, I typed in "K&N SVT Contour" and got this:
GOOGLE - who'da thunk it?
E-0998 for the filter.

Whats your (or CEGs) definition of 'good' gain by replacing the mufflers and/or catback? I don't consider the 5>hp gained by doing either to be 'good.' I'll be the first to tell someone I got the Bassani for the sound...and because it was cheap...

Of course a fullcat back will be better - but changing the mufflers is a cheap option.

Best bang-for-the-buck is a Truebendz exhaust.

SMART-ASS!
