i figure i just lack certain coordinational skills required for snowboarding.
plus, i go out on the slopes maybe once every 2 years or so... no it's no big deal if i don't know how.

I didn't get to snowboard nearly as much as I would have liked last winter. I plan on going out as much as I can this winter, hopefully we can make another trip out to Boyne or something.

AMEN Brother!!!! I get SHEET from skiers a lot, usually the older folks, complaining that we "rut" the runs. I mean come on, the younger skiers are usually cool, and out west I get stares from older skiers a lot as well, it's like they think all boarders are scumbags or somethin. I mean we all pay the same lift price right?
Hell, Brighton(Utah) had ads on buses last year sayin "we accept you for who you are"(or somethin like that) with a snowboarder in the picture just because of the heat ya get at Snowbird or the Canyons.... We (boarders) make up almost half of the ticket sales, give us a break.
OK, i'm done b1tch1ng...

I hope you're riding plates. If not, you need to start if you wanna turn a nice groomed run into a seriously slashed pos in about 10 runs!! LMAO!!
Anyway, I hope ya basterds are getting snow. Grand Haven is!! WOOT!! So far stuff like bark is covered, and the grass is collecting the white crap now too.
And for the sake of planning, Boyne 6 for 1 is coming up in just about 3 weeks.

So are any of you guys, the typical terrain park punks? Because I am, I find nothing more rewarding then sliding a rail smoothly or landing a huge clean 360 grab... I dont know, to each there own. I just dont get much outta basic runs... Unless its fresh powder

I mainly ride an alpine board nowadays, for reasons similar to you going in the park. I just got bored of skidding to the bottom, and I like to ski fast, which is kinda hard in Michigan. Alpine boards can be ridden on a flat hill and still rip 3" ruts. I found bomberonline.com and that fueled my move to plates and a long skinny board. Stazi supposedly started on an alpine late last year, but we haven't been out together since. I think riding in the parks looks fun, but it's strange to see somebody actually pulling air and doing tricks. Most of these kids just sit at the top of the park waiting for something..... If you're busting out more power to ya.
