i use winamp to do this, or i have my roomate use his sound forge.

I don't like Musicmatch or iTunes b/c when it puts something in the "comments" field of the ID3 tag. When you try to burn with Nero, the tags are all screwed up.

I still prefer iTunes since the comments it puts in are visible in the ID3 tag via Explorer. Musicmatch's comments are invisible, but if I "clear" the tag, Nero reads the tags properly.

And 98SE, for earlier iTunes versions it's Edit/Preferences/Importing. EDIT... Oops, didn't fully read your post!

well, I started using WMP10 and it is doing the job perfectly for me.

I finally joined the MP3 bandwagon when I realized I just don't listen to my 1200+ CDs enough. This way I can now throw various stuff on my 80GB MP3 player and play them at random.
