I was just searching under oil and coolant , but did'nt really find anything. So dont yell at me yet. Anyways, I was just changing my oil and tranny fluid ( I was feeling alot of trans braking with the stuff that was put in a while back.)with purpleroyal 'man is that stuff great' it seems to of helped . but back to my question as I was draining my oil I noticed that my oil acutally had a greenish tint to it which is weird because I've changed my oil plenty of times and its never looked like this before. And to top it off, earlier this week I noticed that my coolant light turned on a couple times. So I'm assuming that theres a leak inside the engine , but from where does this usually occur ,water pump , coolant passages thru engine , any help would be great. Thanks

Usually from a head gasket.
Here is a cheap quick way to test the headgasket.
Fill antifreeze to the brim on recovery tank (leave cap off). Remove all spark plug wires. Remove all but one spark plug and have someone crank the engine. If the antifreeze bubbles over, there is leak from that portion of the engine (or cylinder). If not, go to the next cylinder, and then the next.... Note, it could be more than one area or more than one cylinder. Good luck.
Edit. Incidentally, did you fill the coolant to half inch above max after the light came on?

No, I left it where it was at, just to see if it would keep going down, but this before I changed the oil and relized that it was mixing together.
P.s I'll try the test tommorrow .
P.s.What other symptons does a bad head gasket give you.

Engine running rough, a lot of smoke from the exhaust.
Fill the coolant to half inch above max. You can still see it going down from there.

What kind of oil are you using? German made Castrol Syntec is green. The only way to know if it is German Castrol is to look on the bottle to see where it is made. Actually, I guess the other way is to notice that it is green when you pour it in.
At this point you don't have enough to go on. In my experience when coolant gets into the oil, there isn't any trace of green in the oil.

About that castrol oil, never have used it . I have always used motorcraft and its never looked like this, you can actually smell the sweetness in the old oil. And it doesn't look like I have a any other external coolant leak, I've checked and checked, with the car in the air while on for about 45 mins, but nothing.
P.S Just checked the top radiator hose for persure and theres plenty of it, and hot aswell.

Several oils have a green color to them.
Coolant in oil ALWAYS makes foam - between white and tan color.

My wife's Toyota blew a head gasket, and there was a white sludge on her oil filler cap. It looked like white wheel bearing grease. But just cuz you don't see it there doesn't mean your HG is ok. Just a quick way to check.

I had a coolant-to-oil head gasket leak, and it toasted the engine. If this is in fact happening, you should NOT drive around on it, because coolant in the oil can corrode your bearing surfaces.
. . . Two zetec Contours, two blown head gaskets... for some reason I have a Japanese car now.
anybody in California want a Diehard Gold 100 month battery? inquire by PM.
