I just got my kkm and was beginning to install it. However the bolts that are on the stock unit will not come out. I went ahead and used those same bolts but once they were completely screwed into the new adapter, there was a space. So I went ahead and put the stock screen between it and tightened it again. This solved the gap problem and I'm pretty sure it's a good seal, however your not supposed to use this screen. Should I leave it the way it is or how the heck can I get those bolts out? Any help is appreciated. I have to go to work soon so I'll leave like it is today.

I just installed mine Thursday. I took are pair of vis grips and clamped them down really tight on the existing bolts and turned the nuts with a socket. Be warned that this will destroy your origninal bolts, but it will get them off.

thats what I originally tried doing, but the vice didn't hold and it started stripping the screw. I stopped cause I didn't want to ruin the screws incase I had to put the stock intake back on. I have off tommorow so i'll have at it again. What do you mean by destroying the screw. Will it snap in half? if and when it breaks, does it come right out. I'm just worried about half of the screw still being stuck inside the plastic. I know I'm paranoid. Hey thanks for your reply and any more insight you give me. I also plan to have my y-pipe installed tommorow; I can't wait. thanks again, Vinny

If it's the problem that I had back when I put mine on, you should be able to put a star socket on the end of the bolt to hold it in place while you get the nut off.
