I spent 4 hours washing & waxing the BMW on Sunday. Today The Wife takes it to Buffalo to see her father immediately after his quintuple bypass surgery (he's doing fine so far, thanks) while I stay home with the kids. The family sends her out for food and she gets lost and pulls out in front of a kid in a pickup. Goodbye front bumper (just replaced in January), driver's fender, headlight, and I don't know what else. I hope to see it tomorrow afternoon. At least The Wife is physically OK. I guess that's what I get for showing the car some love - first wax in 16 months.

Bad Owner Sorry to hear, Scott. Where around in Buffalo? Well, I'm happy The Wife is alright and her Dad is doing better.

There's a Tony Roma's there now? Jeez, I lived in Amherst for a year, and I had to cross over into Niagara Falls CA in order to get me some Tony Roma's.. (And now it's 300 miles to the closest one!)

Haven't been yet but there's now one on Bailey Ave. Ext. behind the K-Mart on Niagara Falls Blvd. The specific location is a former moving and storage place that they paid over $1MM for the building and land for. I know because my stuff was the last stuff out of storage there before they closed the sale. Is their food any good? The only thing I used to go to Canada for was the Chinese, the good beer and the ballet...

They seriously have some of the best ribs I've ever had.. When I was in Miami back in January, I actually tracked down a Tony's and was in 7th heaven..

The same.
I'd be interested to see pictures ... and, only if you don't mind, the repair estimate. I've heard of bumper bashers costing upwards of $30K on a brand new E46 series (magazine review from ~2002).

I've got the repair estimate - under $1900. Tie rod snapped, fender to be replaced, bumper refinished with new grilles, one new headlight, new bumper trim. I'm going to see it in a couple hours and I'll try to get pics though it's might dark out.
