My car doesn't jerk when shifting. It jerks at low RPM's when load is applied. It will run fine at high RPM's no matter what load. It just jerks a lot whenever I give it gas(no matter if I'm light on the peddle or not but worse if I am stomping on the peddle). Down shifting helps this because the RPM's increase.

I hope that was clear.

Yeah it sounds clear enough, just the same thing happens to mine, exactly the same symptoms...

Regarding the linkage rod part you can probably find it if you do a search on this site for the IMRC / secondary valve linkage posts. You will probably need the grommets for the linkage rod. Check out the Howto on the UIM/LIM cleaning. Grommets part numbers are listed there. Old ones get brittle with heat cycling and break when you remove them.

I just cleaned my MAF sensor with electrical contact spray (one that leaves no residue) and my throttle body with throttle plate cleaner and it seemed to help. Though i haven't driven it since i've cleaned them when the engine was cold. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if it still does it. I plan on cleaning the IAC and changing the fuel filter as well, but didn't have enough time today.

If the car surges under lower rpm acceleration (4th/40mph hit the gas but not floored), change out the ignition wires and plugs, use Motorcraft double plats. I had a carbon track on the number 2 (firewall side center plug). Also, watch out for extra weld on the spark plug "hook" electrode, I had that prevent the plug from threading in! I gapped to .050, a little less than specified. The rust color stuff is probably on your number 2, I saw that too. Grease the boots with silicone grease to keep out water.
