I just tried applying a set of SVT oval decals to cover up the Ford ovals on the grille and above the rear reflector. They're like sitckers only you apply them to the wet surface. Well they turned out looking quite awful.

The one on the grille might suffice but the rear decal is all bubbled up and wont stay down. the surface above the reflector is convex which causes the decal not to stay down all over.

I was wondering if anyone has tried these and had better luck than i have. Also, if anyone knows of a better product.

I dunno, but I bought these sweet replacement emblems at Wal Mart for $9.98 ea. They're chrome, where the blue oval would be blue, and the lettering is in black, instead of silver like the blue oval. They just stick on. I love mine, they look great.

They're called 'Emblemz' by AutoArt.

I realize you can't see them that well in the pics, but they're all I've got available right now.

I've done these decals and didnt have a problem with them. The key is patience.

Theres is no way to get the entire decal to stay down. It would work fine on a flat surface, but the surface in convex. It's like trying to get a piece of paper to stay flat on a beach ball. It's just not possible.

When I did mine, I had that same problem you've had. However, as the water dried, things stuck better (you prolly had too much water between the decal and the plastic surface). You need to be sure to work from one side to the other, getting that water out. It's no different than applying a decal on a model car.

The directions stated, "the wetter, the better".

But not to worry. They dried up today in the sun and they're looking much better. The rear one was the only real problem. So you were right.

the vinyl most of those graphics is made out of tends o have a stretchy quality about it. and a heat gun works wonders too when it comes to stretching and working vinyl...it is very possible just dont squeegee out the water till you get it where you want it
