Hi all, I am still in the process of reviving the 99 SVT that i bought a few months ago. I wanted to update the tranny fluid to the better mixture also known as the "tranny Cocktail" And also plan on upgrading the flywheel and differential (will this get a stock SVT contour into the 14's???) down the road and was wondering the process a guy who does all his work should take to get to these parts where in the heck is the trann\y drain plug? Its not even in the hilton manual I have unless I missed it. Thanks for the help in advance guys!!! Also one last question, are there any downsides to this flywheel:

If you go down to the Transaxle forum and look at the notes pinned to the top, you will find this:

http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=tranny&Number=960062&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=7&fpart=all

Generally speaking, you are more likely to get help from this group if you make an effort to learn how to do a search before you ask questions.

Welcome aboard.

Umm... no. The lighter flywheel will just let your engine rev quicker and slow down faster, and the diff will just help keep the tires from spinning since both will spin now.

I searched for transaxle | "drain plug" | entire phrase | all posts and came up with this (on the first page even): Ray's Tranny Drain/Fill How-to W/PICS

Go with the royal purple synchromax for about 8 bucks a quart. Fidanza is a good choice, get a spec clutch with it for about 600 for the combo. As for diff, do not replace it with a stock diff, go for quaife or torsen LSD for about 600 bucks. No this will not get you into the 14's. And the only downside of the flywheel/ clutch combo is the chatter and roll over noise.
