Thinking about purchasing a different car. What are your guy's opinions on a 00 SVT Contour vs an 03 SVT Focus? Squeeks and rattles, handling, get up and go, value, ect...

I found a nice SVTC but I got curious and found the Focus but it is an extra $4K and 20K less miles, so I want an opinion to see if it is even worth looking into.

Thank you for your help

SVT Focus ZX5
Better seats, better brakes, better soundsystem, better build quality, better headlights, better fit & finish, better handling. Hatch for utility. Roomier Interior.

CSVT does look better though and is a bit faster.

But the SVT Focus only comes in a 3-door. I personally wouldn't hate the FSVT so much if they had just done it on the sedan instead of that retarded mini-minivan version. I also thought the interior of the Focus was a little cheap looking for a newer car. The Focus is a little more useful, but I would go to the tour for performance and looks, just as above.

Sounds like a plan. Best way to do it you know. Don't take our word for it! Try both out and make your own conclusions.

Yeah, but the dealership that the Focus is at probably won't let me test the performance aspect of it, but it does sound like a plan

It does come in the 5 door Hatch also, I think for only 2 years, 2003 and 2004. I was trying to purchase one when the 2004 FSVT were out, an orange one in fact, and there were 5 door hatch FSVTs there. I ended up not getting it and now im looking for a CSVT.

I agree. I think the Focus is an ugly piece of crap. Every time I see one with a body kit or shiny rims I laugh at it... just the thought is ridiculous. I'd take the Contour over it any day.

I thought the focus was ugly until i bought one and drove one. The SVT focus is nice, the euro package is even better. I just wish the SVTF had some power it just feels so sluggish i just was not impressed at all with it. The only way the SVTF would be fun is to throw a jackson racing on it or powerworks supercharger. I think the tour is a good looking car but the build quality just isnt there. In the end though if i had to decide i would go with the SVTF, newer car, less mileage, and it just has better feel to it.
