Strange vibrations under power ( and wheel hop if I decided to stretch out my foot ). Did some digging and looked under the car and voila ! A cluprit. This pic was svtProdigy's, but mine is in the same condition:

Now, can I save this ? Those holes look like you can see right through in the pic. I was thinking that I have stainless tube around, could I put that in the holes to keep things from getting worse ? What about filling it myself ? I know that your first thought would be the new poly mounts in the group buy. ALthough really pretty ( awesome work pole120 ) I just don't have the money.

I say just take the easy way out and send it to Josh. You get it filled and new powdercoat. CHeck the GB forum for updated prices.

I simply can't do that. That is definately the best and smartest option, I cannot have the car parked while I wait for it to be completed, not do I have the money to purchase one outright ( not providing a core ).

Stuffing ANYTHING in those holes will do nothing, the rubber sits too loose in the housing(they are not the only problem). That mount is made up of two 1/2" wide rubber circles with holes in them spaceed out to span the width of the mount. The only solution short of my mount is to try and fill the void yourself with poly without removing the rubber, it's not exactly easy, it's messy, and your car will still sit for 3 days while it hardens.

I'ld be more than happy to help you out, just give me the chance.

Over 50 satisfied customers and i have 3 rears ready to ship.

go on mcmaster carr's website and buy the poly yourself for $30. All you have to do is not use the car for two days while you wait for the poly to fully harden. It's cheap and easy. Just carve out the old rubber and fill it with new 90A poly.

I just might have to do that. 2-3 days I can arrange. I don't suppose you have McMaster's p/n do you ? I'll start searching there myself right now, but their catalogue is a pita with dial-ip ...

Wow, found it faster than I thought. One problem though, can't find 90A. Page 3363.

Did some research and I guess that was a typo. Supposed to be 94A ?

Anyway, I found an 88A, with a higher tensile strength. P/N is 8644K41. Little softer ( I read all about the NVH ) and stronger. I have a pregnant wife, car can't rattle too bad! Otherwise she'll rattle some teeth.

Please explain to me how you "carve" out the rubber.....

You don't need the FDA urethane and you won't notice the difference between 94A and 88A, if anything fill it with 80A or 60A "flexible urethane" listed along with the 94A.

You're going to have to give up some ride comfort if you want the wheel hop and whatnot to stop, plain and simple.

Use Duct tape to seal off the other end when you fill it, and hope it doesn't take too long for it to seep in to the cavity, as it'll begin to gel in about 10 minutes.

Also, if you mix for ANY less than the recommended 2 minutes, don't be surprised when it doesn't cure right away and your car sits for another 2 days.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me, Id rather have you do it right on your own and not buy my mount, than come to me later after something gets messed up.

I'm not trying to be an ass about this whole thing, but Ive seen a lot more mounts and worked with more poly than anyone on this board....guaranteed.
