OK, I've read a lot of posts regarding the moosing common to our SVTs, but nothing fits what I have going on. I had the nose cap on my filter fall off during normal driving, but I don't know how long I was driving with it like that. I was getting a moosing type of noise so I investigated it and found the tip had fallen off. I was going to glue it, but I just went ahead and replaced the filter. Now I am still getting the moosing sound at certain RPMs and especially when downshifting from 5th to 4th at about 50-40 mph. Never had the problem before the filter issue. I tried cleaning the MAF wires according to one post I found and though I got a small amount of residue off, the problem remained. What is going on and is it repairable, or do I just need a new MAF? Please help!!

In my experience, moosing usually occurs around 1500 rpm. But if it is moosing, then do the hose clamp in the middle of the 45 degree bend hose fix or the throttle hang fix. Good luck.

Edit. Moosing sounds like. http://www.sanpedro.com/sounds/foghrn10.wav

To fix Moose problem, put hose clamp in the middle of 45 degree hose (between the IAC valve area and inlet duct (accordian tube). Tighten until the moose (foghorn) sound is gone.

TH fix.
