I thought that cruise was controlled by the VSS. Hasn't happened in a long time, but yesterday it died for 5 min, then came back alive. If you want to check the connector for the instrument cluster, try this thread. If not, then wait for a CEL or blinking OD light. I'd lean towards either the gauge panel connector (in the back) being iffy, or the vss sensor being loose (or wiring faulty), for your speedo/odo problem. OP weasel CEG\'er W Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 363 Canada eh !	Never had a CEL or OD light come on. Then its an MTX, don't think I'll see that puppy light up any time soon !! Faulty ignition switch? How could that affect this? The car itself is fine ( motor still runs quite well ) I think I'll go look at the cluster first, then the vss to check the wiring.
