i broke one of the cables while trying to put my 2000 svt into reverse. just finished taking everything apart to confirm it is actually the cable. does anybody know round about what the stealership will charge to replace these? i just really do not feel like dealing with it. just want to get the car up and running again so i can sell it.

It won't be cheap. It is a lot of labor. A dealer quoted $160 for the cables, but Bill Jenkins said they were only $80.00. Expect the labor to be at least four hours.

What a pain in the arse that has to be. I removed cables from a car w/o an engine or interior in it and have the scars to prove it. Not an easy job in the slightest. Had to cut into the floor pan too.
