I have looked through the archived posts and have not really found anything to help me out. When I start my car, and shift into reverse (it is an ATX), it sits there for a while before crawling backward, if at all. Now, I am on level ground also. If I give it gas, it depends on the situation; sometimes it will still back up slowly, and other times, just slower than normal. My car has about 120K mi and to my knowledge, the tranny has never been flushed. This does not happen all of the time, but I would like to fix it, if possible, before it perhaps leads to a bigger problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If it indeed hasn't been flushed after that many miles, I'd hate to even think about what that fluid looks like...You need to get that fluid changed before you have a total hydraulic nightmare inside that poor CD4E. These transmissions are junk. They need good care.

I will say that some people on here believe that flushing a transmission when the fluid is that old can be a bad thing. Many of the seals inside the transmission will have worn down by now and by flushing the fluid will cause the metal bits to rip the seals apart. How is it when going into drive? Do you feel like it's jerking, slamming, or delaying between gear shifts?

Shifting into third (from second) is rough. It is a delay, with the engine revving slightly, followed by an engagement into gear. It feels like a jerk from inside. But, going into drive is fine.

I would suggest changing the TSS too.
