Exactly, many of these people switched to imports 10-20+ years ago, why would they go buy a buick? Because they hit 65?

I have said it so many times, GM needs to axe some of these brands, I suppose 40 years ago buick used buick engines, and pontiac had their own engines and everything was unique but that doesn't happen anymore.

At the very least they should sell all brands at the same dealer, with the possible exception of cadillac.

It is unique to Cadillac as it has less power than the Corvette-spec LS6. SO IT WASN'T A NORTHSTAR. IT WAS ONLY CADILLAC SPECIFIC! YOU COULD NEVER CONFUSE THE TWO COULD YOU? OOOPPSSS! it happens to everyone. Apparently even you! SOrry if it seemed like I was spouting $#it. I was recalling incorrectly, but it STILL stands that GM has been cramming V8s into FWD vehicles since dirt was invented...

The new engine is the LS2 the old one was the LS6. What the hell are you talking about? The CTS is RWD anyway. Yeah they have been making FWD V-8's for awhile, but who wants a FWD v-8 anyway?

The Accord and Camry have become so bland that those Camry/Accord owners might as well try out a Buick.

MadMerc,

This is probably a good choice to drop this, you are confused and it would be best to not continue the downward spiral any further.

I know. I'll drop it, but up until the '06 model, the CTS-V has had a 5.7L LS6. Yes, the new one does have a 6.0L but the old one had a 5.7L. Trust me. I'll leave it at that. And just to be a good sport about all this, I admit I was incorrect. I'm sorry if I hurt anyones' feelings by making a mental error.

Correct that it was 5.7L 346ci v8. However, you are still wrong in thinking that Cadilac designed it or that it was based on the Northstar. The 04/05 CTS-V engine was exactly the same as the 04 Corvette Z06. The only differences lay in the air intake and the exhaust routing...which led to its marginally different horsepower rating 400 (vs 405 in the Z06). Also as stated before, the Northstars were all DOHC designs while the LS6/LS2 are both pushrod based.

GM should kill the Buick name, take over the plants, and produce the exact same car with an edgy name, and customoziable add-ons. Nobody would know the differene in this image consiocus place we call America.
