I've been chasing a squeek since shortly after I installed the "Aussi Bar" - I can reproduce it in the garage by jacking the car up/down - not from the bar itself but rather from somewhere in the frame up above the subframe. Just to clarify, not bushings, end links, bar rubbing on subframe, etc. In fact I can decouple the bar from the suspension and get the same squeek under very hard cornering. Unfortunately I can't access above the area. I noticed from a search that MystiCali has a similar problem. The only solution I can think of off hand is to add a rear strut brace to try and cut down in flex up high. Any suggestions? Eric

I don't have the squeak you talk about, but is it possible that it is the gas tank if you loosened it to put in the new bar. That is the only thing you could have changed when you did the install. I lowered the subframe to install the bar. I did it this way because I borrowed subframe locating pins from a friend. I didn't like the idea of moving the gas tank in my small garage. Hope this helps. Andy

Rear upper strut mounts tend to have this problem, can you 'feel' the squeek ontop tf the towers in the trunk?

Eric I too had the same problem ... had to re-tighten the bracket bolts and that got rid of most of it - still have a minor squeek I think is rubbing on subframe but I can live with that one.

Wahoo!!! Squeek found after months of chasing! Based on my finding last week that it wasn't in the suspension itself, and with Terry's suggestion that I have a feel/listen at the top of the strut tower, I climbed into the trunk through the back seat (fold down seats) and had my wife back in and out of the driveway - presto, squeek gone. It turns out that it's something in the seat that is rubbing - still not sure quite where the squeek is, but at least now I know that putting the seat down and back up fixes the problem temporarily. Gonna have to test this to see if we have the same creaking going on. Hopefully I can report back tomorrow about it.
