OP WestonP22 Newbie W Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 6 Lafayette, CO	Hi, I just got a 1998 LX with 97k miles and I am wondering what maintenance it may need. I have been unable to find a schedule anywhere. I am under the assumption that the timing belt and water pump are about ready for replacement, but I don't know what else. How much trouble is it to do a timing belt replacement on this engine? How about a clutch replacement? I can do anything and everything on a Honda/Acura, but I've never really touched a Ford before, and there doesn't seem to be much info available. My water pump is going fine at 103,xxx and I think the timing belt needs to be replaced every 60K. I could be wrong. I'll let the others answer your questions. J.T. 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 294ci V8. The Zetec is a non-interference motor but some have posted that their mechanics said that the valves touched the pistion just enough to cause damage.
