The wheel bearings are pressed out and new ones pressed in. You will hear a growling noise while driving, that slows down as you come to a stop. It is somewhat common on any car, my Dodge Lancer needed 3, my sister's Mystique needed 2. I even think my dad's new Avalon (2003) might need one soon!
