Could be a number of things.

Check the codes.

The codes will likely point to the IAC.... or a vaccum leak.

Code retrieval instructions are on the FAQs off the Main Site (not the Forum FAQs...)

Hmmmmm, took it to Autozone and because its a 95 model they said take it to the dealer...

How easy is the light pulse method I see on the main page, looks darn complicated for my skill levels

I personally have never been able to get the light pulse method to work, including on other OBD-I vehicles... but that may be due to my own (lack of) abilities as well.

That said, an OBD-I scanner for your '95 is pretty cheap. Check out your local Sears and Autozone -- they usually run about $30 -- cheaper than the dealer diagnostic fee and plus you get to keep the tool. The OBD-II ones typically go for $100+, so on the prices alone, you can't get them mixed up.

The $20-$30 "scanners" still require you to count the pulses/beeps yourself.

A paperclip is still pretty cheap, it just takes some practice.

On a 95 it's simple. Take a paper clip / short wire stripped at both ends. Under the hood, behind the driver's side strut tower there are two connectors, a single and a second one that has i think 5 "ports" on it. Take your wire and insert one end into the single connector. Taking the second connector, orient it so that the 2 poles are on top (you'll see what I mean). Insert the other end of your wire into the top right plug and turn on the key.

Make sure you have it in park (out of gear) and the parking brake up at least one click to turn on the brake light in the dash cluster.

Follow your maintenance manual for how to count the flashes of the check engine light.

Whoops, my bad -- thanks for the correction. I stopped by Sears earlier this afternoon and upon seeing the OBD-I scanners realized that I had put up some misinformation on this thread this morning.

FWIW: AutoXray does have a text-based OBD-I scanner (linky) but it runs for $100.
