I just went to the autoparts store around here and was picking up the sandpaper and some cleaner/polish for the headlights, when the guy said "why don't you just use nailpolish remover"? I obviously had no explanation and bounced. Out of curiousity though, will it work instead of wetsanding? It is true that it does take off paint so at the same token, will it work on the headlights? (I know its in the How-to's, but I was just curious if this was another option)

Also, Meguire's apparently has a cleaner/polish in one bottle called PastiX, is it any good, or should we stick w/the 2 bottle approach?

Nail ploish remover contains acetone, thats why it removes paint AND melts plastic. Do not use it on your headlights.

Good rule of thumb: most auto parts store clerks have no clue.

Plastix is good stuff.
