First of all, when you put the key to on (not start), is the Charge/battery light on? (to determine if the bulb is blown).

Secondly, is the Check Engine Light on for a few seconds, when your key is turned to on? (to determine if power is getting to the PCM).

Thirdly, When "everything went died", was it cranking and not starting? Or was it nothing at all? (to determine if the starter is bad).

Fourthly, if you get it started again (engine running), test the alternator to see if it is putting out 14 to 14.5 volts. (to see if alternator is a problem).

Any other lights on on the dash?

Ok After Installing Battery all dah lights come on strong all lights work radio everything real good.

Once I turn the key everything goes dead and nothing at all works even the accesories no lights nothing.

after waiting a little I try the key again to accessories everything lights up great agin but no start and it kills everything once again.

but even when dead the visor lights are on but oh so very dim
and the clock everything else dead

turned key to on not start and yes all lights including check engine work

when it went dead no cranking from the starter at all not even a attempt like turning the lights in your house off just dead

Test the starter and see if this thread might help.

I see why you say starter but if it was the starter and it will not crank shouldn't other things work like radio lights dash light ect. once I attempt a start everything dies.

I have had a bad starter selonoid on my old car but it just didn't crank yet everything else still worked.

Does everything work when you do not crank the engine? Or is everything dead now (even when not cranking the engine)? Also check the wiring from battery terminals to ground and alternator.

Note, in a properly working system, some things are supposed to turn off (memory functions like clock or PCM memory type things will stay on, lights will dim) when you crank the engine but it should come on again when you stop cranking.

Everything fixed was a black wire that need to be connected more firmly from possitive terminal got answer from privous post that you posted thanks.

heres the post car is running great now.

Ok, it's 2.5 years later, and I had the problem again...bye-the-way, I fixed it the first time...

There is a small black wire that loops up between the battery & the air filter box. This small wire attaches to a connector at one end, and seems to follow the "main" positive wire to where-ever it goes...haven't followed it.

The end that connects to the connector...is in with a group of wires that comes off the "secondary" positive terminal...this is sort of an extension to the main terminal. Both the pos & neg have these "secondary" connection posts...I guess because they needed more places to connect things close to the battery.

Anyway, the small black wire keeps coming out of the connector end. It's a PIA to get at...you have to remove the battery & battery box. Last time it just seemed to stick in there, so I left it. This time, I'm taking the battery stuff out and fixing it "for good".

I figure this must be something going to the solinoid, since there is no clicking or anything when this is out...and all light's, are great. New battery too...whenever it just doesn't start, I push it back into the connector & off I go for another 5-6 months. Guess it's nice weather again so time to fix it right.

Rich

LOL. Glad it is working fine for you now. Next time, I will remember to advise "Check your battery terminal wires" first.
