Hello everone. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Matt. My username is martinarcher because I shoot archery with a Martin bow. It has been a hobby of mine for several years. I used to compete at the state level with some sucess.
I am joining the forum after buying a black 2000 E1 SVT in Michigan two weeks ago. It has 67,000 on the clock and run great. So far I absolutely love it. I have always thought the SVT Contours were great looking, quick cars. I decided it was time to finally get one.
After I got the car, I browsed this forum upon finding it on the web. I thought it looked rather nice. After browsing it, I have found several well written how-to's including the fog light/parking light conversion that I did this afternoon. Other than that, I have only done two small mods to the car. I installed my Alpine deck and also a short ram intake. I am a car fanatic, I imagine this car will me an addiction like my other one.
My Escort is my other car. It is a 1995 Escort LX. I swapped the stock motor out for a 2.0 SPI motor out of a later escort. I also turbocharged it with a DSM T25 from a 98' Eclipse GSX. The manifold is a custom JGS manifold. It has Greddy management and boost control. Also a Spearco FMIC and a Greddy Type-S BOV. It is a quick and fun little car. Feel free to check it out...

Well, I look forward to lots of fun with my SVT and meeting those on the board.
~Matt

I know that the extra half quart of oil is for the oil starvation issues during hard right turns with the Duratec, but what is the 1/2" of extra coolant for?

Thanks. I have never has it dynoed, but I would guess anywhere from 160-180 whp. If I could get the timing issues straightened out I could probably get 200hp with 10-12 psi. Right now I can only push 5psi before I deto.

Sweet - that's where I graduated. Actually, I just graduated in May with a Computer Science degree. I am now working as a Software Engineer for a local manufacturing company. When did you graduate?

The coolant overfill (done when cold!) is for a finnicky "low coolant" light that tends to come on (especially on cold startup) even if AT the full mark..
Welcome.
