The chip will adjust shift schedule, and TC control. The shift kit will adjust how the tranny shifts as in the transition between gears will be shorter/firmer. This equates to less wear.

Is there a removable pan on the ATX? (Yes I'm lazy and don't want to dig out my factory manuals.)

If not; how does one install a shift kit and etc? ATX removal???

order # is sk-cd4e-jr. ask for Dave. the special pricing is b/c you were supposedly to have found out about them from the web. but just tell them that you found them on the internet and it will cut the price in half. it was like $34 incl. s&h from wash. to ohio. non internet price is like $40ish.

demonsvt- fromwhat i understand you do not remove the tranny from the car. i won't be installing it or attempting to install it until Oct. 14th.

i am sure i will have install pics and i will write up a how to for everyone who wants to do this.

OK, I'm interested.... Heres the URL to their web site: TXexchange

I'll see if they have a contact that can answer if removal is needed or if this will work on OBD-1 for us "classic" 95 owners wink

Demon and all, there is a tranny pan on the front. The valve body is located behind it. The other thing that gets added is a shim on one of the hydro servos. You either need a Ford tool to get it off or you go get a C-clamp and grind the end off. The instructions say to get a C-clamp. I covered this a while back in a post, but cannot find the thread. It was one of the Davids and he took pics of the kit. Just some springs, balls, ring shim, and a drill bit.

This kit is especially recommended for early CD4E's.
