My 98 SVT with newer clutch and trans has a problem that just developed. When I release the clutch for the firt time of the day, the clutch will act weird. While relaseing the clutch it slips for a second. I push the clutch back in, and it runs fin the rest of the day. Other than that the clutch runs fine after that one slip. It only occurs in first gear...at least that the only gear I have noticed it in. Please help.

You said a"new clutch". What kind of clutch? Hows the clutch pedal feel? Firm, soft, loose? If I was a betting man, you probably need to bleed the clutch again as there may be some air in the system. Do a search in the transaxle forum or in the Duratec Maintenance forum for bleeding the brakes or cltuch (as they use the same fluid adn teh clutch is hydraulically controlled just like the brakes. The bleeder is located on the backside of teh trans facing towards the rear of teh car, looks very similar to a caliper bleeder. Our clutch isn't cable adjustable like other cars (SHO, etc) and rely on hydraulic fluid pressure.

Now is a good time to do a good flush of the brake fluid now.

I would describe the location of the clutch slave cylinder bleeder as being on top of the bell housing, under the air intake tube. Once you know where it is, you may be able to access it without removing anything, but the first time you will probably want to remove the air intake tube between the throttle body and the air filter housing.
