is there a free program out there to copy dvds to your computers hard drive? i just wanna be able to copy them to the CPU to watch them with out having to insert a new DVD everytime. thanks for the time and info.

who do you watch them after you copy them... there in some werid file extension

they are VOB files. you can either use WinAvi to convert them into .avi files, or just use whatever dvd program you have and open them. usually it's in the menu to "open source" or something to that effect.

DVD shrink to shrink them down DVD decrypter to burn them to a 4.7 g DVD AnyDVD to remove the encryption so you may make legal backups of DVDs that you already own.

i don't think the original poster wanted to burn them to dvd. his point was to have them on his comp so he doesn't have to keep switching DVDs. i sent him a link to WinAVI so he can convert vob's to .avi files.

i use DVD decrypter to copy it to my main computer and then from there i copy them to my laptop you get better battery life when the movie is plAYING FROM THE HARD DRIVE AND NOT THE DVD ROM DRIVE
