Fuse keeps blowing when I turn on my heater blower. I replaced the switch and the resistor pack. What next ? If its the blower motor, could anybody let me know how to test the blower motor with a multimeter ? Any other ideas?

Try running a direct wire connection to the blower. If it works then, you know it either the wiring or fuse box area (this will turn out to be a big problem. See thread below).

I found out what it is after replacing the switch, blower motor and resistor pack. The fuse blows when I have my stereo on and the fan on. I can live with turning the radio off when I have my fan on.

Try running a direct wire to the radio, if it doesn't blow the fuse with the direct wiring, then, that will be your new wiring for the radio.

There is a recall that has something to do with the heater fan.

Still messed up. I thought it was related to the radio but it wasn't.

Heres the deal. I turn my heater blower on. It runs for a second. Then the speed of the motor fluctuates. Then the engine picks up RPMs for a second or two, then the fuse blows.

Check the voltage at the battery terminals, see if it goes too high or low. Normal is 13.5-15 with engine running. Maybe you have a short in a wire, rubbed through insulation.

so the battery may be weak and causing this ?

The simple answer to that question might be "possibly". As voltage goes down, the amperage on a device would go up. The fuses are rated in amps, so there is the possibility that a weak battery may cause a fuse to blow.

If your charging system is doing it's job, I would not expect a weak battery to be the problem if fuses blow with the engine running.

If your fan motors insulation in the windings was starting to break down or thore wise short out the armature, amp would start to go up. Also bearing(s) in a motor going out will also increase amp draw. If a motor is somehow restricted in coming up to full speed or other increases in loading on the motor, amps would also go up. Might also want to check for restrictions in the air flow. (Plugged inlet or outlets of the heating/ventilation system.

I did a test with my meter and it read 11.7 volts at the blower motor. Is this normal ?
