I am not a frequent poster in the forums here, I usually like to read through and learn what I can. But, my fever for power from reading has really got me thinking about getting up this SC thing! I love the idea of having a Sleeper Contour! I am sorry for posting a request for old news, but can someone please

1. Give me the specs for the output of the Vortech ?
2. And also the 0-60 sec, 1/4 times if you could!

Has anyone at all had SCing related problems with their cars?

Thanks so much!

Go back a couple weeks on this forum and look for a thread called "Pics of my broken SC"

To be honest, it seems like every Vortech owner has had some sort of major malfunction.
Bob King (rtking - 295FWHP/216ft-lbs) - shredded both prop & jack shafts
Me (293FWHP/214ft-lbs) - developped an oil leak in the SC and shredded both prop & jack shafts
Simon Langley (fst4dr - ???FWHP/???ft-lbs) - Broken keyway shredded jack shaft
Sam (PhatSVT - 266FWHP206ft-lbs) multiple boost related problems.
Corey (corey - ???FWHP/???ft-lbs) - Multiple boost related problems
Tim (nvmy98svt - 260.1FWHP/198.7ft-lbs) - no apparent problems.
There is another guy on the boards with a SC, I will have to hunt up his numbers.

Just curious...

How can we get more torque out of our cars? How come a Focus can get 200hp/240ft-lbs by slapping on a cheaper 'Aerocharger'?

I'm just wondering why it's so easy to get humongous torque increases on a crappy Focus by so difficult on our cars to get above 220ft-lbs...

The easiest way is to go to the 3L, the engine is designed to rev, and make power at high rpms... wasn't ever intended to have a lot of torque.

Brad Noon's bearing can't really be blamed on the vortech, I think there were some other factors playing into Silvie's early death.
As for teh Cougar... can't comment because i don't know the details.
